all these new subdivisions, where's the traffic going

Been reading the planning agenda again. Springhill Crossing out on Springhill Rd, Cottages of Bryant on Prickett, and now a duplex request on Ethel Drive. thats just the ones I caught.

I dont mind neighbors, been here a long time and the town was alot smaller. But Prickett and Springhill are two lane roads and they back up allready at school time. Where do all these cars go?

And will the school district keep up?? Dont see new classrooms going up as fast as the houses. Anybody know if the district has said anything about it

Happy new year all. Gonna go check on my brisket leftovers

Prickett at school pickup is already a parking lot. I coach rec ball and half my kids live out that way, practice starts late bc nobody can get thru 😬 Havent heard anything from the district but the school board agendas are probably where youd see it. Thanks!

Thanks Jordan, I'll dig through the school board agendas. Figured nobody would say anything till the houses were already built. Practice starting late cause of Prickett is a shame, those kids dont need to be sitting in a car. Back when I moved here you could cross Springhill without even looking both ways, now not so much

Same here Ronald... I remember when Springhill was mostly pasture and the farmers market was about the only thing that backed up traffic. The planning commission meetings are open to the public, and I think you can sign up to speak. Probably won't stop the building... but at least it goes on record that people are watching the roads.

Just my two cents

Good point Joyce, I might just sign up to speak. Never done it but 3 minutes at a mic cant hurt. Hope somebody besides me shows up tho. Think the farmers market is still off Springhill? that was the only traffic jam I didnt mind, you could get a tomato out of it

Ronald, do it. Three minutes feels like forever when you're standing there, but it goes fast, and I'd write down what you want to say beforehand so you don't ramble. The thing I've noticed is that "traffic is bad" doesn't stick with a board as well as "Prickett backs up past the school entrance from about 2:45 to 3:30 every day." Name the road, the time of day, and what you see happening. Specifics are hard to wave off.

On the farmers market, I'm not sure it's still in the same spot. I'd check before driving out there. Either way it's not running right now. Most of them don't start back up until spring, when the tomatoes come in. I'm already looking at my seed packets and it's barely January.

If my schedule lines up I'll try to come sit in the back. Even a few extra people in the room tends to get noticed. And chop those brisket leftovers up for sandwiches, they're better on day two.
