My daughter and her husband are moving out of Little Rock this spring with my two grandkids (7 and 10) and I'm the one who got asked to do the homework, lol. They came down yesterday for Christmas Eve and we drove around Bryant half the afternoon.
They're stuck between Bryant and Benton. Everybody tells her Bryant houses cost more because of the school district, and she wants to know if it's really worth the extra. I've been here a good while and I think it is, but my grandkids aren't in school here so I can't say from experience. Anybody with kids in the Bryant schools lately, what's it actually like? Elementary especially.
Son-in-law still has to get downtown on I-30 every day, so that's a big one. I know the traffic coming in from Benton side can be a mess in the morning, and with all the construction over the years I quit guessing how long it takes. What's a normal drive for you, leaving around 7 and coming home around 5?
Also property taxes. If you've got a number you're comfortable sharing for a normal 3 bed house, or you just know how it compares to Benton, I'd appreciate it.
Last thing, which parts of town are the quiet ones? She doesn't want to be right on Reynolds or Hwy 5 with the traffic noise. Something with a decent yard where the kids can ride bikes. My son-in-law also wants room for a smoker, and I told him that's the one thing I can really help him with.
Thanks y'all, and Merry Christmas.
