Therapist + psychiatric med management recs, Bryant/Benton area? (takes insurance)

Typing this at 3 in the morning, which probably tells you most of what you need to know.

My longtime provider retired, good for her, not so good for me, and I've put off finding someone new for far too long. Between anxiety, depression, and a few life changes that all decided to show up in the same year, I'm done pretending I can white-knuckle it.

So I'm looking for two things (same office or separate, I don't care): a therapist, and someone who does psychiatric medication management. I'd really like someone on the older, experienced side. No offense to the young ones, but I want a person who has seen a lot and doesn't need to consult a pamphlet. Gentle is a must. I'm not up for a drill sergeant, or a 10 minute appointment where a prescription gets slid across the desk.

They have to take insurance, I'm not made of money, and the property tax bill already took care of that. Saline County is ideal. I'll drive to Little Rock if somebody is truly worth it, but I-30 at 8am is its own mental health condition. Telehealth is fine too.

If you've got a "don't bother, 6 month waitlist" story I'd take that as well, it saves me a phone call. Feel free to PM if you'd rather not say publicly.

Thank you in advance. And kind replies only please, I'm asking nicely...

Karen, good for you for asking, even at 3 in the morning. That's the hardest part and you've done it.

I don't have a name to hand you, and I'd rather not point you wrong on something this important. But a few things helped people I know. Call the member services number on the back of your insurance card and ask for in-network psychiatric prescribers in Saline County. Ask your regular doctor too, since they often know who is actually taking new patients and who has a waitlist. When you call a office, ask outright how long their appointments run. That tells you a lot.

And yes, that property tax bill takes care of everyone's pocketbook. I'm hoping somebody here has a good name for you.
